The Etruscan Necropolis

of Tarquinia is located on the Monterozzi hill, about 6 km long, is home to the main city necropolis, extending parallel to the Tyrrhenian coast. The tombs cover the entire hill, mostly chambers carved into the rock and topped with mounds. It is precisely the latter, now barely visible on the ground, because they have been leveled by agricultural work (but only a century ago there were more than 600 of them), which have given the hill its popular and expressive name.

The castle of Vulci

it was built close to a bridge, built by the Romans on pre-existing Etruscan foundations, to cross a gorge where the Fiora River passes, which today divides the territories of Canino and Montalto di Castro. The "Devil's" bridge (3rd century BC), with its 30 meters of height, dominates the Fiora river, near the medieval castle of the Badia. The archaeological museum is located in the Abbadia Castle, where you can admire the very rich furnishings of the Panathenaic tomb, Etruscan and Greek ceramics, bronzes, sarcophagi, votive offerings and architectural elements that once adorned temples and tombs.
